October 2, 2024- National Custodian Appreciation Day
Custodians work behind the scenes in order to create a safer, healthier, clean environment for students, staff, and community members to access. Custodians' roles and responsibilities vary from what one would think of as ‘basic cleaning,’ setting up for sporting events, club events, seasonal updates to the building, and ensuring facilities are running correctly. Custodian’s hours may alter, as there are items that need to be cleaned or completed after ‘normal’ day work hours. The job of a custodian is not an easy feat, and can often be exhausting or even monotonous. October 2nd has been a nationally recognized day for custodians. I encourage you to find a custodian (or maintenance worker) that works within our district and thank them for their hard work and dedication.Thank YOU custodians for keeping our facilities clean, friendly, and ready to operate.
