The Holocaust
Mrs. Castle’s eighth grade students started the second semester by diving into a unit over the Holocaust. The semester began by selecting a topic to write a research paper over. After the paper is finished, students will begin reading “Daniel’s Story” a historical fiction novel about a boy and how his life changed when the Nazis came to power. Although this book is fiction, it was inspired by the experiences of many of the more than one million children who died in the Holocaust. After students finish the book, they will present a five minute speech over their research topic.
