6th Grade Class Update: Exciting Happenings!
December 18, 2024
Dear Parents and Community,
We are excited to share some wonderful things happening in our 6th-grade classroom this month! Our students have been hard at work, engaging in various activities that enhance their learning and foster a sense of community. With winter testing over and the second semester almost complete, we are ready for the fast-approaching Winter Break.
Science: This month in science class, we launched our unit on ecosystems! Students have been learning about the biotic and abiotic parts of an ecosystem.
Reading and Literature: In our reading sessions, we have been exploring the fantastic world of fantasy literature. Each student has selected a book from our reading list to explore its themes and characters. Recently, we held a "Book Talk" session, during which students shared their thoughts on their books. It was great to see everyone so enthusiastic about reading!
Math: This module focuses on positive and negative integers while working with the coordinate plane.
Social Studies: We have been learning about ancient Mesopotamia and the culture during that time frame.
We will pick up in two weeks to finish the year's second half.
Thank you for your continuous support and involvement in our class activities. We appreciate the partnership between home and school, which makes this possible. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Thatcher
