Headaches, Fevers, Allergies and Flu Shots!
October 23, 2023
We have had a great start to the 2023-24 school year. I am seeing just a small amount of illness at this time. We have had a few cases of Strep Throat, there is a little stomach virus which causes stomach upset and just a few cases of COVID. I am also seeing as the seasons change lots of allergies and allergy symptoms. As always please keep your student home for temperatures over 100 degrees Fahrenheit for 24 hours after the fever has reduced without the use of Tylenol or ibuprofen. If you need medication given to your child at school there are forms to fill out in both the Jr./Sr. High School and Marshall Elementary offices. Good handwashing and hygiene go a long way in preventing the spread of illness. It is always a good idea to not share drinks or food with friends as this is a easy way to spread the bacteria and viruses which cause lots of illnesses.
On November 6th we will be having our annual flu (Influenza) vaccination clinic at both the Jr./Sr. High school and Marshall Elementary. There are forms in both offices for pick up if needed. This is one way we can be proactive in our health and help prevent this illness in ourselves and in others. The flu virus spreads across our nation yearly in the fall and winter months. The flu virus kills or hospitalize thousands of people each year. Many of our students have conditions themselves or have family members who have health conditions or weakened immune systems which place them at a greater risk for having severe complications from the flu (Influenza A and B). IF you decide you are interested in having your child receive the flu (influenza) vaccination please fill out the form, attach a copy of your insurance card and return it to the offices no later than October 30th. As always please feel free to call with any questions.
