Writing in 2nd Grade

Second grade students have started their first big writing project for the year! This writing project is a how-to piece! It’s time to show what we’ve learned about writing step by step directions. Students are posed the question of “How do you carve a pumpkin?” It’s fun to see the differences between how each student completes this process. Students have to remember to use transition words, write in complete sentences, and draw illustrations that correlate with what they are writing about.
We are all looking forward to continuing to learn and enhance our writing skills. Stay tuned for what exciting writing we will be doing next quarter!
