Baseball Season Begins

The 2025 Tornado baseball season is in full swing.  The Tornado team is composed of 22 players, including four seniors.  As with any high school baseball team, the success of the team will be determined by the pitching.  The Tornadoes return two proven starters, Tanner Biering and Dalton Pool, both seniors, and several younger pitchers who will become more consistent with additional experience.  As the season progresses, these younger pitchers will have to step up in order for the Tornadoes to experience consistent success as the rules of baseball put limits on how much any one player can pitch.

The second most important area for the Tornadoes to be successful is hitting.  Again, the young Tornadoes will need to improve throughout the season for the team to be successful. So far, the improvement in various individuals is exciting to see.  This must continue, and other players must make strides in this area as well.  Judging by the results at the plate in this young season, that improvement will be forthcoming.

The final critical area is fielding.  Again, the youth of the Tornado squad and relative lack of experience leads to too many mistakes in the field.  However, as with pitching and fielding, the squad is making progress in this area also.  Mostly, it comes down to nervousness and focus, which will improve as the season progresses and they get more experience.

With hard work, the final version of the 2025 Tornadoes will be much better than the initial version.  As the younger players improve, so will the outlook for the team as they approach regionals in Cedar Vale.
