September Fall is in the Air/Rain is as well this year

Due to the heavy rain prior to Tuesday September 2nd the first grade students did not get to go on their field trip to visit a soybean field. However the soybeans came to the classroom instead. Amy Perrior brought in a large soybean plant to show the students how large a soybean plant can get and showed all the students where the pods grow on the soybean plants. Amy also brought store purchased edamame for the students to taste. We had many students that liked it and enjoyed tasting the edamame. Amy also read a story to the first grade students and showed them the soybean seeds that farmers plant. It was a great presentation given by Amy Perrior from the Greenwood Cattle women's association in regards to the You Are Here A Flint Hills Map and Education program. We are fortunate to have these presentations throughout the year.
