Finding Area

It is so hard to believe that the end of the 2nd nine weeks is drawing near. We have been working hard this semester, and as part of our math curriculum here at Marshall we have been working on finding the area of shapes. The students have been working to make a variety of shapes that have the same area and have been comparing the shapes to see how they are different, even though their area is the same. Using template pages with grids to help them, the students enjoyed using their dry erase markers to draw as many shapes as they could that shared the same area. They enjoyed this a lot and were so excited to see who could get the most shapes that shared the same area!
