Math, Science, and Technology

October 17, 2023

The nine weeks really have flown by!!! In math students have worked hard on fractions. Everything from adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions. Sixth graders have now moved on to ratios. In science students have been learning about cells. We have studied cell theory, prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, characteristics of organisms, and plant and animal cells. Students were also able to choose one of the six kingdoms and present a research project on the chosen kingdom. Students will now be learning about predator/prey relationships. In technology students have learned the basics on Word/Doc, Google Slides, and are now starting on Google Sheets/Spreadsheets. They have also been completing lessons in EduTyping daily. Toward the end of this nine weeks we will start to learn about basic coding.
