Speech Students Complete Informative Speeches

Students in Mr. Gamache's 1st and 5th hour Speech classes have completed their third speech of the semester. Presenting an informative speech to other students in their classes.
In preparing for their informative speech, students learned about the different types of informative speeches (Definition, Explanation, Comparison, and Descriptive). Students also fine tuned how to build an outline for their speeches from their previous (demonstrative) speech, and practiced how to find material for their informative speech from books, webpages, and interviewing experts on the topics they were researching. from this, students created strong citations of their multiple sources to help build their speeches.
Informative speeches were to be presented as a 5-7 minute speech to their peers to teach them about a subject they knew well. Topics for speeches included the following:
- An inside look at the foster care system.
- Differences Between Bedrock and Javascript Editions of Minecraft.
- Agriculture in the Roman Empire.
- The Bermuda Triangle.
- Strange Phobias.
Students in Mr. Gamache's speech classes will next start on their adventures into Debate.
