First Grade March - Muffins in the Morning
March 07, 2024
March 5th was our very first Muffins in the Morning with our first grade families.
Our students used their Leader In Me skills to greet their parents and friends at the Marshall Elementary doors, and walked them to their classrooms. Once in their classrooms selected students welcomed families and explained what activity they were going to do first.
Our students read stories to their loved ones or friends and took such pride while reading their stories. (It was wonderful as teachers to see the joy and pride our students expressed while reading to their families and friends. Next, a student announced that we will now be serving our muffins to our guests. Our students served, their guests, lemonade or water and a muffin and enjoyed the muffins while visiting with their guests. Our students cleaned up after their guests and themselves. Then a student stood up and invited families and friends to play a board game with them.Once time was completed another student, stood up and thanked all our guests for coming, then students walked them back to the front of Marshall Elementary.
Once the students were back in their selected classrooms they expressed how much they enjoyed Muffins in the Morning and that they really liked serving their guests and leading the activities. It was a wonderful morning that we plan to continue in the future.
Thank you all so much for a wonderful morning!
