First Grade students have settled into to our routines quickly and the love of learning we are seeing in our students is wonderful!
We rode on a bus for our first field trip. We listened to information given to us while riding along on the bus and we answered questions as well. Then we stopped to view soybean, corn and wheat fields and learned how to plant and harvest soybeans, corn and wheat. The Greenwood County Cattlewomen made this trip possible for our students and we are grateful that they want to share the love of ranching with us. :)
First grade is continuing to work on fluency, fluency in reading and math facts! Our students are enjoying our new stories we are sharing with them this year. We have added some fun activities and lessons into our curriculum for reading. Reading IS Fun!
Fall is right around the corner and we will have another field trip Oct. 6th weather permitting to Cowtown. So be sure to keep checking your child's backpacks for more information in the near future.
