"The Outsiders" Character Project

“The Outsiders”
Eighth graders are in the middle of reading the novel “The Outsiders” by S.E. Hinton. The book is about a fourteen year old boy and the struggles he faces with what is right and wrong in society. Students were asked to pick groups where they will do a deep dive into one of the main characters’ personality by completing a biography project on that character. This project not only develops characterization, it also helps students practice working in collaborative groups.
