New Creativity with the Laser & CNC Machines

January 27, 2021

SUCCESS!!!!!

Students like Clay Burden are adding to the value of the CNC engraver & the Laser Engraver in which we purchased through a grant many years ago.  Clay started the year by getting familiar with the CNC machine by engraving names and a Tornado onto the 8th grader's clipboards.   The number of clipboards that are made in the 8th grade Intro to Industrial Tech class total around 50 per year.  Students in the 8th Grade Class will learn about safety in the shop, safety on the machines and then they make their clipboards.

Clay then turned his attention to the laser engraver.  The laser engraver has worked, but it has never been properly aligned.  Clay devoted some of his time to get this laser working properly and has just recently perfected the alignment.  Clay has now engraved on wood, glass, leather and even paper.  As he works hard everyday meeting the needs of the classroom, he also is getting the machines to their finest working ability.

I just really want to thank Clay Burden for all that he has done with these machines.  We really look forward to even doing greater things in the future.  This all is possible because a student took great pride in the machines that are offered to the Industrial Arts Classes here at Eureka High School.  Clay is also helping perfect the instructions so students can perfect these two machines in the future.

            Thank You Clay,

            From Mr. Denner & Students
